Modular design, Axiomatic design (AD) and Theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) have been increasingly popularized in concept modern mechanical product. Each method has their own advantages drawbacks. The benefit modular is reducing the product period, AD capability analysis, while TRIZ’s expertise innovative idea generation. According to complementarity these three approaches, an systematic methodology proposed big complex system. Firstly, module partition executed based on scenario decomposition. Then, behavior attributes modules are listed find contradiction, including motion form, spatial constraints, performance requirements. TRIZ tools employed deal with contradictions between attributes. decomposition mapping functional requirements parameters carried out construct structural hierarchy each module. integrated considering connections other. Finally, operation steps application designed temporal dimensions. Design cutter changing robot for shield tunneling machine taken as example validate feasibility effectiveness method.
